As a former dancer, designer and manufacturer of professional ballroom and square dance shoes, Coast shoes has maintained the highest standards in workmanship, materials and customer service. Our experienced shoemakers and exceptional attention to detail assures that you will have the quality, durability, comfort, and performance expected in a professional dance shoe.
Coast Dance Shoes were manufactured in a shoe factory located in Los Angeles, CA. for over 50 years. In 2023, due to a lack of qualified shoemakers available in the US, Coast moved it’s manufacturing to Leon, Mexico, which is the shoe making capital of North America! We can now offer a large variety of beautiful styles and colors to choose from, made to your specifications. Each style embodies the same principles of classic design and high standards of workmanship. Coast is committed to upholding the principles of quality and integrity which made the company a leader in dance shoes throughout the United States.
Coast Dance Shoes can be made in different colors, widths and heel heights. Although we do have some shoe styles that we keep in stock, most of our shoes our made to order according to your specifications, and take approximately 6 – 8 weeks to make. You tell us exactly how you would like to have your shoes constructed, and we will make them for you. We offer a wide array of colors, fabrics. leathers and heels to choose from. Please look under the tab called “Fitting Room” in order to view most of the options we have available. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, please contact us. We have many additional colors. and components that may not be shown on our site.
Coast Dance Shoes are made from the highest quality leather and fabrics, and come standard with chrome suede outsoles, (LEATHER STREET SOLES ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST), and feature cushioned innersoles using very high quality, dense foam, that provide great comfort and help protect the feet and legs from stress, fatigue and pain while at the same time being extremely lightweight. Additionally, for added comfort, and shock absorbency, you may opt to have padded outsoles (pro soles) added to your shoes. This provides extra protection to the dancer who may have foot issues or spends long hours on the dance floor teaching or practicing, and needs the added protection and comfort.
We use very soft, form fitting leathers in our shoes – including leather linings in most styles, and do not add hard toe caps unless requested at the time of placing your order. Men’s standard 1″ Standard #M1 heels and Women’s 1/2″ Flat #22 heels are made of a dense, shock absorbing, rubber for added shock absorbency in the heel.
Coast Dance Shoes is continually adding new styles and products to their collection. Over the years, Coast has designed hundreds of styles and this Web site shows the styles that have proven to be the most popular. If you are looking for a particular style, please give us a call for a personal consultation. We are also able to make a custom pattern or last for you if there is a particular style you are needing.
Since most of our shoes are custom made to order, it usually takes between 6-8 weeks to receive your order. If you need your shoes quicker for a particular event, you can opt to have your shoes expedited by ordering them as a rush rush or semi-rush order for an additional $20 – $30 charge. Please advise us of this at the time you place your order.
